Are you heading to the beach with a baby or toddler this summer? Are you unsure what to pack in your beach bag? We’ve compiled a list of the top 10 must-have beach essentials for a fun-filled beach day!

Baby Gear

  1. Sun Shade Tent

This is a must-have for a day at the beach! Hide away from the sun, cozy up for a midday nap or stretch out for some tummy time.  The mesh windows keep things cool inside too! Plus no sound machine needed for this nap time with the crashing waves right outside your tent. Bring along your stroller fan to help keep things cool all day long.

  1. Playpen

A portable playpen is the perfect hideaway for a little one on the beach. The canopy offers sun protection and the structured base creates a play space free of sand to wiggle on or to rest! Bringing an infant to the beach? This portable bassinet is a smaller and easy to travel with option.

  1. Wagon

Load up all the beach paraphernalia into this wagon –  and squeeze your toddlers in too! The larger wheels help it make the trek through the sand. It also has a removable canopy that offers protection from the sun and a cool spot to store the cooler for the day. Two or more in tow to the beach? Wear your baby in a lightweight carrier for an easy, hands free option to travel on and off the beach.

  1. Packed Cooler

We’re all about the snacks – no sand please! We never leave for the beach without a cooler filled with water, lunch and an assortment of snacks in a handy dandy bento box (i.e. fresh fruit, cheese sticks and dry snacks galore). Pack popsicles or frozen yogurt tubes in a stainless steel tumbler and enjoy your refreshing treat on the beach!

Beach Toys

  1. Sand Toys

This beach toy set comes with everything your little one may want or need in the sand. The collapsible buckets make it easy to store and carry in the mesh travel bag included! Add a set of watercolor paints and paintbrushes to take water play to the next level on the beach. And what better way to remember your day than with a painted seashell beach masterpiece!

  1. Kiddie Pool

Parents cannot stop talking about this beach essential for their infants and toddlers. Simply pack an inflatable kiddie pool, a rechargeable portable pump and sit back and watch your little one splash in a pool just for them! Add an umbrella or grab a pool with a pop-up canopy for added protection from the sun.

Sun Protection

  1. Sunscreen

Be sure to pack baby safe sunscreen with a high SPF to protect your little one’s skin from the hot summer sun. Use a roll on sunscreen applicator to make applying sunscreen more fun for those wiggly toddlers or apply it in the car

  1. UV Protection Swimwear

Long sleeve swimwear provides UPF 50+ sun protection that lasts all day long! The pullover style of this rash guard makes it easy to take it on and off before or after a dip in the water. Add a floppy sun hat with a wide brim to protect your little ones’ face and neck.

  1. Reusable Swim Diapers

Reusable diapers easily snap on and off and hold in only solids. As an added bonus, reusable swim diapers add an extra SPF 50+ protection! Throw all wet clothes, swimsuits and towels in a wet dry bag!  Once you get home you can throw it all in the wash so your beach essentials are ready for another fun filled day in the sun.

  1. Beach Towels

Bring a towel or two, or three! Towels make for a soft cushioned place to land or a way to dry off at the end of the day. Pack a hooded towel or terry cloth swim cover-up to make drying off in the sun a little more fun (and extra adorable) for your little one. Add baby powder to your beach bag! Sprinkle some on sandy toes and legs to leave all the sand at the beach.
