Mom’s Guide to Rhode Island’s Coziest Coffee Shops

0

Need a little pick-me-up between diaper changes and playdates? Look no further than these mom-approved favorite coffee shops.

I’m a mom of two boys under four, and as a former barista, I *might* be a little bit of a coffee snob. There’s not much a mom can’t do with a great latte or cold brew, so I’m sharing some of my favorites of Rhode Island’s independent coffee shops. They’re guaranteed to give you that extra pep in your step.

1. The Coffee Guy, Narragansett

If you’ve ever strolled through Rhode Island’s bustling farmer’s markets, chances are you’ve encountered his legendary brews. Now, with his new coffee shop conveniently located near Bonnet Shores, getting your coffee fix just got a whole lot easier.

And did I mention coffee delivery? Say goodbye to those early morning coffee runs – owner Steve Demeter has got your back. Order by 8 pm on Tuesday, and you can have your coffee (beans, grounds, or cold brew) delivered directly to your door on Wednesday.

Check out his website to find where he’ll be this summer for farmers markets too.

2. The Nitro Bar, Newport + Providence

Picture this: you’re on a mission to conquer your to-do list while keeping the little ones entertained. Enter The Nitro Bar, your ultimate multitasking haven. I go at least once a week while working from home. And I often walk there with my boys to get their all-time favorite chocolate chip banana bread loaf.

And don’t sleep on their Chorizo and Salsa Verde Wrap – it’s my absolute favorite!

3. Borealis Coffee Company, Bristol

Need a change of scenery from your home office? Look no further than Borealis Coffee Company.

With its spacious layout and proximity to Pivotal Brewing Company (hello, happy hour!), it’s the perfect spot to hunker down and tackle that never-ending to-do list. Plus, with ample space for the kiddos to roam free, you can enjoy your coffee in peace while they burn off some energy. Win-win!

4. Grafik Coffee Co. Roastery & Café, Portsmouth

Grafik Coffee Co. is about to become your new favorite hangout spot. Nestled in Portsmouth, this chic café not only serves up some seriously tasty beverages (Pistachi-Oat Latte, is my fav at the moment), but it also boasts a dedicated kid section.

With a little ball track on a magnetic wall, a kid sized table and books, its the perfect space to sip on your latte and catch up with friends while your kiddos play. Not to mention one time my youngest was losing his mind, the owner came over with a bowl of cut up blueberries to help him calm down. Talk about customer service.

5. The Nook Coffee House, East Greenwich

Conveniently located in downtown EG (just a stone’s throw away from Warwick’s shopping paradise), this cozy café is the perfect pit stop for busy moms on the go. Treat yourself to their Pistachio Rose Latte (can you gather I love a pistachio themed drink?). Then grab the kiddos, and make a beeline for Target – because you’ve earned it!

Whether you’re seeking a quiet retreat to catch up on work or simply in need of a moment of bliss amidst the chaos, these charming coffee shops are some of my favorites. Here’s to good coffee, great company, and endless adventures – one latte at a time!
