Rhode Island Advocacy for Children is a Non-Profit 501(c)(3) organization that was found by parents of children with special needs. Our organization works to advocate for children by helping families navigate through the complexities of educational rights. We work to provide a voice to families and to advocate for their child’s unique needs. We know that it takes courage to ask for help and how overwhelming it is to navigate through an educational system that doesn’t work for your child. We are the additional support that families need to discover their child’s potential and to remove educational obstacles.

This large playground has multiple play structures including a very large one with a rock climbing feature. In addition it has a sandbox, swings, picnic tables, and some shade. The feature of most interest, however, are the tires that kids will love climbing on.

The Hope Street Farmers Market is a farmer-run cooperative created and managed by many of the best farmers and food artisans in Rhode Island. We sell fruits, vegetables, flowers, cheese, breads and pastries, pasture-raised meats, seafood, poultry and eggs, and many other items that we grow, make or raise ourselves. Come join us every Saturday morning from 9 to 1:00 and Wednesday afternoons from 3:00 to 6:00. Load up your shopping bags with great things to eat, listen to live music and spend time with your neighbors – all at Lippitt Park on the East Side of Providence where Hope Street and Blackstone Boulevard meet.

Providence ¡CityArts! for Youth is a community arts organization with a mission to provide free professional arts education to Providence youth between ages 8-14. ¡CityArts! serves over 1200 youth in afterschool, daytime, and summer arts programs citywide, offering meaningful learning experiences in visual art and design, performing arts, and creative writing. This great playground within Roger Williams Park has so much to do and explore. There are several play structures, swings including two oversized swings. There is a candy land style rainbow road that kids love to run on, features designed for imaginative play, and monkey bars. In the unlikely event that the kids get bored with the playground there are endless other things to explore within the rest of the park.
Located amid 40 acres of beautiful woodlands, Roger Williams Park Zoo provides visitors the opportunity to see animals from all over the globe – some more than a million years old. Naturalistic surroundings are home to more than 150 animals including a Komodo dragon, as well as zebras, red pandas, African elephants, Masai giraffes, snow leopards, bears, anteaters, flamingoes, sloths, alligators and more!
Kids from two to 102 have the opportunity to feed giraffes and harbor seals, as well as an array of farmyard animals. For something slightly out of the ordinary, visit our new Explore and Soar area offering an exhilarating zip ride, a train excursion through the woodlands and camel rides.
